An image generation API your designers can edit
Designers build templates in a visual editor; your code sends data by layer name and gets back PNG, JPG, WEBP or vector PDF. No headless browser to maintain and no HTML-to-image hacks.
Free plan forever. No credit card.

How it works
- 1
Template in the editor
Layer names are the API fields: title, price, photo. Designers can change the look without touching your code.
- 2
One POST request
Send the template ID and layer values. With ?wait=true you get the image URL in the same response.
- 3
Batches and webhooks
Send thousands of items in one batch and receive render.completed and batch.completed webhooks with an HMAC signature.
Change any layer by name
Text, image, color, position, size, rotation and opacity, or null to hide a layer. Unknown layers don’t fail the request; they come back as warnings.
curl -X POST "https://api.bannermatic.app/v1/renders?wait=true" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer bm_live_…" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"template_id": "tpl_promo",
"format": "png",
"layers": {
"title": "Studio Pro headphones",
"price": { "text": "$129", "color": "#FACC15" },
"photo": "https://cdn.shop.com/p/123.jpg",
"badge": null
}
}'What you get out of the box
Pixel-identical rendering
The editor and the API render with the same component in Chromium: fonts, auto-fit, gradients and QR codes match.
OpenAPI and interactive docs
The full reference lives at /docs, and the OpenAPI spec is available as JSON.
Quality report per render
Every response lists cut-off or shrunk text, missing or blurry images and layers off the canvas.
Free previews
preview: true renders with a watermark and doesn’t count towards your quota, which is handy while you integrate.
Signed links
Embed /i/… URLs in emails or pages; the image renders on first request and is cached.
MCP server for AI agents
Connect Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients with the same API key to list, edit and render templates.
Questions and answers
How fast is a render?
Most banners are ready in a second or two. Synchronous requests wait up to 30 seconds; for large volumes use batches and webhooks.
Which formats are supported?
PNG, JPG and WEBP with a pixel density (scale) setting, vector PDF with real text, and MP4, WebM or GIF for animated templates.
Can I try the API for free?
Yes. The free plan includes API access and 50 renders a month, and preview renders are free on every plan.
